as part of parlugments participation in railfair, i was given real estate at
the end of town because i had already created one beach house which i wanted to
incorporate into the layout. as a result i was able to build a full beach
display with 4 beach houses of varying designs. after scoring an obscene amount
of dark tan large plates from our local toy stores idea of pick a brick, i
designed a modern beach home situated off the beach but still with an ideal
view.
| | this two storey, two bedroom house has a 360º view on all levels.
|
|
| | the main level is sunken with a surround of plants and interior flower beds. the living space in the middle contains an open concept kitchen, dining area and living room.
|
|
| | the dining room chairs were inspired by some of brickshelfs mijaspers brilliant designs. they sit around a smoked glass dining room table reminiscent of 1970s decor.
|
|
| | upstairs, on the landing we find two bamboo gardens with waterfall backdrops and a central seating area. an outdoor patio with skylight ceiling and small table and chairs affords an uninterrupted view of the ocean. two bedrooms with private baths are also bathed in sunlight from the skylights in the roof.

the homeowners were obviously not well off enough to afford waterfront property
but did the best with what they had.
enjoy the tan beach
house.

| I like the interiors a lot in this MOC! The table is excellent, the plants everywhere give a great feel. The chairs were a clever use of the SW flag. I also liked the centrepiece with the dk red base. The doors as skylights are also great! Thanks (...) (19 years ago, 1-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)
