Please note, this is still a work in progress..

It all began over a year ago when Paul Baulch mentioned that maybe a city in microfig could be done. I ummmd and arrrd over this for a while, and came up with this

But what good is a tram, without some where to drive it? so I give you...

The City I Love.

This currently takes up my entire kitchen bench, and is the first thing ones sees when they enter my place.

after playing around with the entrance to flinders st station I went out and took a bucket load of photos, and began from there, It first took over my coffee table, and then kept growing organicly

The most difficult part was designing the tram crossovers . This took many redesigns till I was happy.

it is currently 177x72 studs in size but when finished it will be around 400 X 72. it also breaks up into easy to move compartments for travel

this is no where near complete, what follows are planned improvements

Eventually it will spread to the arts spire (still in design stage). federation sq requires alot of wedge plates. smoke glass for all the tram stops. Lights in both the station and the info desk. Redesign of the info desk (too much black). In side detail for both st-pauls and Y&J’s. and maybe a better team on the jumbo screen (we are the navy blues...)

There is also two smaller compainion pieces in the works

(...) Excellent work Aaron ! Unmistakable streetscape even to the occasional visitor. The 2 types of trams and 2 types of buses and the train station would be my favourite parts of your display. Something like this would go down well in a show open (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jun-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) snip (...) Wow! Incredible. Totally outstanding detail! I look forward to seeing the completed version. I wish there was some way I could convince you to bring that over to BrickFest this August. I hope you consider some progress pics along (...) (...) Brilliant. I would never have thought that such an accurate rendition would be possible at microfig scale (I have enough trouble at minifig scale!). Nice work dude. Loved the cab, and the dome work is excellent too. And the roads. And the (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jun-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

(...) Looks really great, is it comming to the QBD meeting on Monday so we can have a first hand look? (...) I would have thought federation square just required you to spill a pile of bricks out on the table :-P Martin (20 years ago, 12-Jun-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) Truly amazing, Aaron. I echo Martin's sentiments in hoping you can bring it to the MUGS meeting on Monday. Gets my vote for TGBSLILA - oh wait, I'm not a judge LOL ROSCO (20 years ago, 12-Jun-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.town, FTX)
