This is a model of the Homestead Building in Kew Gardens, NY. This
Tudor-style building has varied decorative timber patterns. I first got a
liking for my now-favorite color combination, brown and tan, from this
project. The wild variety of brown special parts available inspired me to
try to create some of the variety of "gingerbread" patterns on the real
building.

Until Brickfest 2001 I lacked enough brown 1x1s to complete it. (There are
only 7 tan 1x1s here too.) No bulk brick packs were used in this project.
Lack of a brown 1x4 was another challenge (yes I know about Spinosaurus but
it's too late.)

This is the first picture I've posted, though the model was started in 2000.

(entered in Medium Building.)

Hey, I know where that building is! I walked by it one day.

You already know I like it. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks,
Jonathan
