6095 Guarded Treasury
101 pcs, $14.99 *Great Buy!*
I think this set will make up the bulk of extra castle purchases this
year. It has a lot of great pieces, and the only minifigs that come with it
are grunts. My biggest complaint with this set is the Tower piece. It is a
3x4x6 Half-Tower piece, and has no indentations to take bricks like the old
tower and wall pieces do. The good stuff include the blue 75 degree corner
slopes, the Lion's Head Lintels, the Brown torches, the Gray arched
window with a wrought iron bar pane, and the two minifigs.
One minifig is an English Pikeman with a plate armor deco torso, and a
Royal Knights II Medium Shield.
The other minifig is a Bulls Soldier, with a scale or brigandine armor
deco torso, and a Kite Shield with a bull head symbol.
6471 4WD Police Patrol
29 pcs, $4.99
Not a good set IMO. I got this one for the trans-green windshield and
the wheels, and I plan to get one more for a second windshield. These
are the only good things that I can see about it, as the wheels are
*way* too big. the hubs are the same as the ones in the big Spaceport
set, and use a new piece to connect to the car frame. This piece is a
4x2 45 degree Double Inverted Slope with Technic pegs on the sides.
7104 Desert Skiff
53 pcs, $5.99
This is a good buy. It has 3 brown 2x4 plates, 2 brown train railings,
2 dark gray 4x8 plates, and two dark gray macaroni bricks, among other
things. You also get a Han Solo minifig and a new Luke Skywalker
minifig (new torso and head). I highly recommend this set.
7115 Gungan Patrol
77(83) pcs, $7.99
I think this is a good set, but many may feel it doesn't have enough to
warrant multiple copies. I think the Kaadus are cool, but the set
didn't come with any bricks to fill their "saddle gaps". However, it
does come with two beige 8x8 radar dishes, a number of flex tubes, a
cool purple shield, and six trans-blue 1x1 cylinders. It also comes
with Jar-Jar and a generic Gungan.
7124 Flash Speeder
105(106) pcs, $7.99 *Best Buy!!*
This is probably the best buy of all the 2000 sets. It has an amazing
Price per Piece ratio; 7.55 cents/per piece! Not only that, but it has
a lot of Green pieces, brown chairs, and a brown cap! This set will be
a staple in people's surplus set catagory!
7134 A-Wing Fighter
123 pcs, $14.99
Although the model is a horrible representation of an A-Wing, it has
some great pieces, like Gray and Dark Gray slopes, red Engine Block
Cylinders, and large Red and Gray plates. It also comes with a Rebel
Technician and an A-Wing Pilot in a green jumpsuit.
The funniest thing about this set is the computer. The image on it is
of a collision course with a Star Destroyer Bridge. :)
