I really like the design of te building, but I'm not sure if I dig the
silver parts used. They look like they were added as an afterthought.

Thanks for the compliment.

Actually the silver pieces are fairly tightly integrated into the structure.
There is no way to remove them without destroying the building.  However, I
can see your criticism as being valid.  These panels are fairly difficult to
use in a minifig scale building because:

- They were designed for a much larger scale.
- Strangely enough, they are offset at a slight angle from their mounting.
This makes it look like the panels are slapped on there and hanging by a
thread even though they are solidly attached.  These panels would be far
more asthetically pleasing if they were straight as compared to their
mountings.

Without the panels, I would have needed some sort of trim or the building
would have looked excessively plain.  I could have used gray, as I did on
the sides, but I think that the silver dresses it up a bit.  The angling of
the panels is definitely a downer, but overall, I think that they add to it
rather than detract.

Brad

(...) I actully liked the idea, and your building give me great ideas, not that i copy, but they get me thinking on how to build interesting buildings. Josh (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)
