TexLUG at Maker Faire Austin 2008

TexLUG was invited to participate at Maker Faire 2008 in Austin, Texas this past weekend. We're not the first LUG to display at Maker Faire, but this was our first time, and we walked away with not one but two "Editor's Choice" awards for our (...) I had a great amount of difficulty building in this scale myself, but (...) (16 years ago, 22-Oct-08, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)

  building 6-wide cars

Our train group is going up to 6-wide cars (and 8 wide trains) for the next layout. Anyone got any advice or tips on how to make them (and how to make them look good)? I am good at making 4-wide cars but not so much at making 6-wide. (16 years ago, 22-Oct-08, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)

(...) I have at least two shots of each custom piece of equipment in the shop on my Flickr Site. Most of them aren't too hard to reverse engineer. -Duane (16 years ago, 17-Oct-08, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Really nice job! Do you have any intentions of positing designs for the equipment? (16 years ago, 17-Oct-08, to lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) Nice model, you really captured the feel of Norms workshop. All you need now is to find a suitable printed piece (or make your own decal) to use as a sign. (16 years ago, 15-Oct-08, to lugnet.town)
