OK, here are some instructions courtesy of Shockwave.com:
Internet Explorer for Windows 95/98/ME:
Delete the swflash.ocx file in the Macromed directory:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Macromed\flash\
Internet Explorer for Windows NT/2000:
Delete the swflash.ocx file in the Macromed directory:
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\
Netscape for Windows (any Windows)
Delete the NPSWF32.dll file in the Netscape plugins directory:
C:\Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program\Plugins
Once you delete the appropriate file(s), you should be able to reinstall
Flash with no problem.
