It's technically the end of the two-week series, but if I get ideas for
additional characters, they'll be added as I finish them. Same thing goes
for the three other BatToa Droid variations that I've already designed.

I was rather surprised that it turned out so well. I started with the
thrusters, footpedals, and seat, with some bare struts sticking forward.
Then I moved all the way forward and built the steering vanes. At this
point I only had two more brown quarter-ovals and I'd already run out of
quarter-rounds and 1x5 liftarms, and I still hadn't built the large brown
shell on the forward fuselage. I suddenly got the idea of using the new
half-wedges from the Ewok Attack speederbike, but I'm not sure if I can
still find them locally. While I was looking it over to see if they'd work,
however, I happened to glance at the Geonosian Fighter two shelves above,
and I saw the new full-wedges on the sides. I pulled the ones off my GF to
experiment with (figuring I could buy another one if they worked out right),
and with some tinkering I was able to figure out a good way to mount the two
wedges at the proper height, which coincidentally happend to leave me a few
open sideways mounted connection points underneath the upper wedge. After
that it was just a matter of raiding my small stock of Ninja sets for some
of the pieces to fill in underneath the upper wedge.

I did figure out a way to make better looking (thin) flaps, but there
were two problems with this. The first was that it wouldn't have left me
with any points to connect the clear stands, and the second was that I
wouldn't have ever been able to build closed flaps.

Technically speaking, of course, the RoboRider head was one of the hoof
pieces from Kane-Ra, so it is a Bionicle piece in that sense...
> IMO the Scout Toaper seems to be straddling the bike just fine.
If you could look at the actual model, you'd see that he has four
knees. The hip-joints don't pivot out from the body, and the only way to
get the legs out out far enough to wrap around the fuselage is to turn the
limb sideways. The result is a somewhat z-shaped configuration that looks a
bit painful. It's not so bad for the arms, since I was able to keep the
short section of the Throwbot limbs oriented on the same axis as the
shoulder joints.
> What Scout Trooper figure has not looked a bit odd when doing so?!?
The POTF2 version looks mostly okay when on the speederbike. It's just
when he's standing loose that he looks like he's been riding it for ten
weeks straight.
> Actually that 12" Collection set looks damn spiffy
*rassinfrassin* You pour salty lemon juice in my open wound. I would
have cheerfully bought one at full price if I'd been able to find one. I
still haven't ever seen one with my own eyes, and then I had to hear about
people saying, "Well, since it was only $12.50, I figured it was worth
buying one." I'm glad exclusive LEGO sets aren't anywhere near as hard to
find as exclusives of other brands. I can still find the TRU-exclusive
R2/3PO 2-pack, and the Wal-Mart exclusive Slave I/storage case combo pack,
but I've completely missed a bunch of Hasbro exclusives.
