Phil,

I was browsing your site lastnight and found that you have the 8485.  I
couldn't find any pictures to support my theory, but thought that version 2
of the controller would include a power inlet.

It does.  One page of the 8485 instruction manual:
http://library.brickshelf.com/scans/8000/8485/8485-027.html
shows the area on top, the lt gray area above the red A-B buttons where
there are no studs.  This is where the 9V input connector is, same size as
the RCX.  The connector enters at a downward angle.

The unit also accepts 6 C cells.  Since I bought mine from DYA, it came with a
220V wallwart.

I took mine apart lastnight,
and it looks as though they almost made provisions to add the wiring and
components on the pc board.  Does anyone have a picture of the pc board from
version 2.  I could compare the differences between the two and maybe come
up with an easy solution.

Don't they have that by default? I don't own any but AFAIK it comes with • a
wallwart... Did not know it takes batteries though.

The evolution of Control center is inverse of the one of RCX: the first
version (http://guide.lugnet.com/set/8094) had no supply input, the second
(http://guide.lugnet.com/set/8485) got it...
