If you are asking about the parts that have white axel peices on the ends
and the plastic coated flexi-wire in the middle, then they are Znap, (a Lego
product). Znap was only availible everywhere but the U.S. until about a year
ago. Lego unloaded almost all these sets to us here in North America. I
can't say for certain that you wont find Znap set in the U.K. as some store
may have them hidden on a shelf in the stock room.
Sets that have this flexi-wire axle are (I believe); 3551, 3552, 3571, and 3591.
I hope that this narrows it down for you in your search.
