been a while since i've posted, but i'm back. recently i've been building
just small stuff, nothing worth posting to lugnet. I did finish a three foot
long pirate ship, but my camera screwed up and i lost all of the pictures i
took!!! oh well. I remeber quite a while back, (june) we got into a
discussion about lego pellet guns that can fire. well since then, i've been
trying to conquer this and make a gun the can shoot at least three metres
without glue and only with lego. here are the results, i'm pretty proud of
both of them as they are the result of long hours of frustration and
contemplation. well, here they are!!
this page is just a temporary page, i was just dying to get it up. I'll be
doing anew one with new photosand maybe a movie of both the guns firing too,
we'll see. I'm very proud of these.

they fire each fire
about four metres( sometimes 5-6). one is a blunder-bust rifle and the other
is a hand gun.

The firing mechanism is spring loaded and it fires a technic
axle. they shoot technic axles of any size although the 1x3 works the best.

the rifle shoots via the wild west building exploding system using shock
absorbers. pull the trigger and the shock compresses against the bottom of
the barrel, then you hit down on the 1x8 tile and it pushes the shock up
into the barrel which hits the bullet sending it flying.

I wanted both guns before i made them to look somewhat convincing and the
blunt ended blunderbust did not look convincing, so i added a removable
machine gun front to it to make look like somesort of military gun.

the scope on top works but only to a distance of two metres.

both of the guns are front loading mind you as I couldn't figure out a way
to make a loading mechanism.

the hand gun is works on the same premice, except it uses  a pull-back
push-in hammer thing on the back. this gun takes way longer to load and is
somewhat less powerful than the rifle.

to load and fire this gun, you pull back on the hammer thing that is in the
back unatil it is as far as it can go. than you open up the top and using a
one by whatever length piece you push down on the shock absorber and push in
the hammer again as far as it will go. then you put the pin in the side to
hold the hammer, load thegun and pull the trigger!

basically, it works the same as the rifle, except the hammer compresses the
shock absorber and the trigger pushes up on the shock which expands into the
barrel hitting the bullet.

both guns are probaly smaller than normal guns, but they are sized to fit me
and i'm thirteen so...

please please let me know what you think!!!!!!!!!! i spent alot of time
working on these as well as figuring out how to make them fire so please!
feedback!!!!

thanx

WOW!! That is so cool! I think the rifle looks better without the extended barrel. I've been trying to make a gun that uses the missile launcher from the new castle. never-mind that idea, I'll just copy what you've built :-) Again,COOL! Gary geordan (...) Those look great! Have you considered using the new yellow technic shock absorber? These have far more tension than the old gray kinds and would probably give your guns more power. I know you can get one in the new "Explosion Studio" set for $34.95. (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)
