If you need resource materials, I recommend a book called "Driving
Ambition".  It's a phenominal and exhaustive resource regarding the McLaren F1.

Thanks for the tip!  Finding out technical details of the F1 online has
been useless--seems that McLaren doesn't feel the need to boast about
suspension design, etc.

Designing the shift stick was particularly interesting, since it's 6
speeds + reverse, and the stick is not at the center of the car (the
driver's seat is at the center).  I had to use Lego's flex cables to
connect the shifter stick to the gearbox.

And I can see why the car would be so fast--it's a HUGE engine with four
wheels and a seat.  A friend of mine owns a 360 Modena, 355 Spyder, and
a 911 Turbo...  Yes the real thing.  Suddenly they don't seem so nice anymore...

(...) Very cool!!! I can't wait to see more detailed pictures of all the features you listed. I'm actually working on the same car(not LM) although I only have a rolling chassis right now. If you need resource materials, I recommend a book called (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)
