Does anyone know anything about the actual functionality of the model, eg no.
of gears etc. It strikes me that technic sets are becoming less technical,
with less moving parts and fuctionality. Take the 8448 compared to the 8880:
8880 8448
4 wheel steering front wheels only
4 wheel drive rear wheels only
4 wheel suspention ditto
pop-up headlights none
4 speed gearbox 5 speeds+reverse
adjustable wing mirrors fixed wing mirrors
openable boot conertible/wing doors
The 8448 only wins on the gearbox and doors/ convertible roof.
Having said that, Lego has done an excelent job with the recent technic range.
Their looks have greatly improved, and the sectional aproach to many models
(including the 8448) is truly innitiotive.
So, keep up the good work, but just remember that some of us love moving parts
more than shiney plates and flexible tubes!
