(...) What's the # for the Power-function to 9V converter cable? I cannot seem to find it. (17 years ago, 26-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)

(...) #8528 (17 years ago, 26-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

(...) #8528 is the 9V or Mindstorms 2.0 to NXT converter. I am looking for the 9V (2x2 plate connector) to a Power Functions (new style 2x2 connector found on the power functions motors). Or, I'll also take the NXT to Power Functions cable as well. (17 years ago, 26-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

(...) I thought that might be the case but I decided to take a gamble. :-) (17 years ago, 26-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

It's listed under Technic, the PF Extension Cable IS the 9V Adapter Cable. Look at the bottom of the connector. I just ordered 10. (17 years ago, 27-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

(...) Im not sure whats going on. On Dec 26, 10:45 EST here in Canada, lego.com is showing a picture of an adapter cable, with one end being the new power functions and the other being the old 9V electric connector. The page claims to describe a (...) (17 years ago, 27-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

(...) Well the title says "Power Functions Extension Wire", but the description says "Allows you to connect your LEGO 9v electric systems to the new Power Functions". With the pic indicating that as well, I'd guess that's what it is, the title could (...) (17 years ago, 27-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

(...) Ross, you are right, Janey just pointed that out to me as well. BUT, The first line of the description also states that it will allow you to power up your Power Functions Creations. The next line refers to it as an "extension." While I do not (...) (17 years ago, 27-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

How does it work? I guess the new stuff can work the old stuff, but can an old 2 wire box control a new 4 wire motor? (17 years ago, 27-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

(...) Actually it works as a PF extension wire AND as a PF to old 9V converter. One end is PF on top and bottom, the other is PF on top, 9V on bottom. This allows to connect a PF motor on a RCX (not recommended for XL motor since it draws a lot of (...) (17 years ago, 27-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

(...) I thought it might work like that, you can't see the top of the half 9v connector in the picture of course. I guess it's cheaper, one product/two functions. (17 years ago, 27-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

(...) This shape also enforce a PF rule: power source is always available on top of PF connector, while power input is always done from bottom of connector (similarly to mains power distribution sockets/plugs). Philo (17 years ago, 27-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Individual Power-Functions elements now available

(...) This is indeed good news. Thank you for clarifying this. Now, Im off to place my order. :) Chris (17 years ago, 27-Dec-07, to lugnet.technic)
