Hi Ian,
This part won't entirely solve your "problem"

but it provides return back to center help to a spring and has been yet used
succesfully for a motorized steering (Sorry, I have not find the MOCPages page
featuring this example).
It's a shame such a cool part had been released only in unpopular hockey sets -
In consequence of this, a part of high interest remains pretty unknown.

| OK - for all the mechanical gurus here... You've probably seen my RC manas truck on the sidebar here. The steering is controlled by one manas motor, geared down so it's really slow. This is done so that I can get the wheels back to center, because (...) (18 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.technic)
