That Excavator was built by an 11 year old, by the way. He’s local to Portland, had never been to a fest. His dad contacted me after hearing about it and we talked through what there would be to do and so forth, I think he and his son had a great time. Thanks to the other great crane builders for making him feel welcome (and thanks to Derek’s mom for making a few spare mosaic plates available for it to dig around with).
