Re: Strange parts in Nui-Rama set

(...) It only occurred to me this morning that this piece is designedto sort out two different sizes of bands. There are two black bands that show up a lot in Bionicles sets and this gizmo fits them both equally well. (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Single acting pneumatics with spring return

Hello again, I think I should have another go at this... I wanted to say "Check this out, I found an interesting application for the old pneumatic cylinders" What it came out sounding like was "Mr. Soh was wrong! Look at me prove him wrong!" Sorry (...)   Re: Strengthening Gears

I hahe been lurking on this conversation for a bit. Here are some random thoughts: Blocks, Gears and Axles use three different materials. By that I mean the are differnet grades of the same material or totally different materials. I lean towards (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Williams F1

Heya all, will be the Williams F-1 car produced ? If so, when ? And for which price (cca) will it be saled ? Thanx. Rene (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Strengthening Gears

(...) This is just a wild thought, but what if the boiling process doesn't alter the the strength of the material, but helps to reduce stress concentration points? If the gear deforms ever so slightly (i.e. negligible deformation- no change when (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Pneumatics: the old and the new

(...) And most other pneumatics systems do too, but its easier if you have a tank in which you have a high pressure (or a low pressure). (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

New moc: 80% completed Atlas Copco Roc F7cr

hello everyone! For almost a year after I first planned to build this machine, its finally 80% completed. the only problems I have to struggle with know, are the rotateable boom; how to reinforce it, and make the rear end completed, and adding a few (...) (...) I talked to my co-worker who's a rock climber about this interesting matter and he claims that climb ropes get better and better from stress regarding max weight/pull capabilites, however they also get crispier. Climbing ropes are generally (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Melting Point of ABS (Re: Strengthening Gears)

(...) No, it's thermoplastic. But too much heat, or even localized hot spots, can scorch it and make it unusable. (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: "One set" pulling challenge

(...) Okay, ignore that message, Ross just had to go and make a spring motor so he does not use any external parts. Actually cool as an iceberg :) /Tobbe (URL) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: "One set" pulling challenge

(...) Not that I want to spoil anything but the rules imply only to use one set and 8466 does not contain a motor. But perhaps you're pulling for something else? Sorry if I was unclear on this :( /Tobbe (URL) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Pneumatics: the old and the new

(...) Hi, those who have the old pneumatics and a couple of the blue air tanks may want to try the experimental setup at (URL) it! And I suspect the window walker critter would still work without the air tanks :-) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
