  Re: Strengthening Gears

(...) Personally I counted on a big melt and hoped it would not ruin my kitchen hardware :) /Tobbe (URL) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Pneumatics: the old and the new

(...) Hey, don't blame me if it should fall off though ;-) Speaking of wall climbing robots, does anyone have or seen one of these 4-legged Climb@Tron creatures shown at (URL) look kinda cute especially Vertibug. And at $14.95 each, they're a lot (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: lube

(...) Interesting, what brand did you use? I tried some of this from a spray can (I can't remember the brand offhand) and it made things worse! Essentially things seemed to get a lot more jittery; I found good way to test the effectiveness was to (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Pneumatics: the old and the new

(...) Hi, those who have the old pneumatics and a couple of the blue air tanks may want to try the experimental setup at (URL) it! And I suspect the window walker critter would still work without the air tanks :-) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: lube

(...) I dunno. Does it still squeak even when the pumps are disconnected? I've noticed with my compressors, the extra back pressure on the plunger causes more squeaking, which disappears when pressure is released. I'm not even sure whether it's the (...)   Re: Melting Point of ABS (Re: Strengthening Gears)

IIRC, ABS is a thermoset plastic. The first time you melt it it's workable at a relatively low temp and solidifies nicely, but heating it again won't melt it, only deform it and finally burn it : ( -Xanthra47 Ross Crawford <rcrawford@csi.com> wrote (...)   lube

Hi everyone, I noticed that teflon was not listed in the lube faq. It can be purchased at bicycle shops in an aerosol can or dropper for under 10 dollars. It is a dry lubricant that is clear and doesn't attract dust. I used it with my clock and was (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Strengthening Gears

Wow ! Interesting results. I would have bet my firstborn that it would weaken them. Anyone else try this ? I might just to see if Tobbe's result is a fluke... (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)
