  Re: Legoworld 2005

Hello Mario, Steve & all (...) It was a great pleasure to be able to build a bigger GBC, an even greater one to see the sparks in the eyes of children... The consecration came tuesday when I was able to talk about GBC with KKK himself ;o) (...) I (...) (19 years ago, 28-Oct-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.technic)

Re: Is there any incentive to buy set 8436...

(...) 5 Reasons 8436 is a good buy: 1. It has awesome tires, and more than just 2 or 4 of them. 2. It has many possibilities for MOC's, such as Nathanael Kuipers design. (URL) It is a great kit for providing a little bit of everything. 4. It is a (...) (19 years ago, 28-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Is there any incentive to buy set 8436...

(...) Not really. 8462 is awesome, and uses lots of studded technic bricks. The tow arm assembly is unique and never been used the same way in subsequent tecnic set. (...) I can already do that using my 8479's wheels, they're the same (although (...) (19 years ago, 28-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: High Failure Rate of New Type 9V Geared Motor

(...) What a relief to know I'm not jinxed after all. (...) And their high mortality rate. I hope the proper person at TLC is looking into it. C S Soh (19 years ago, 28-Oct-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Is there any incentive to buy set 8436...

(...) Well, I'd say compare the (URL) 8436> to what preceded it, the (URL) 8462>. Here's a thought, you could use the wheels on the 8436 to build a longer version of the 8421! Adr. (19 years ago, 28-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Is there any incentive to buy set 8436?

(...) I too hate the new grays, but I think 8421 is a really sweet set. I got to see someone playing with the motorized parts at Brickfest, and I think that the crane is very well built. Since the new grays came out, I've thought that they make the (...) (19 years ago, 27-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.color, FTX)

  Re: Dump Truck (old)

(...) Nice work Nathan. I really like the bed and the way you've positioned the air tanks to look like fuel tanks. You should build a HEMITT: (URL) It's not shown in the picture, but they have an arm on the back for rolling containers on and off the (...) (19 years ago, 27-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Is there any incentive to buy set 8436...

(or any other 2004 technic sets) if I already have [LEGOSet 8421] None of the 2004 technic set seem all that appealing to me... That plane with bionicle propellors is horrible. 8421 is the first technic set I got since 2003 and I have every big (...) (19 years ago, 27-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Gottwald AMK 1000t mobile crane

(...) Hi Ross, sorry about the picture size, I did not even think about this problem. I will look at resizing them. Sorry everyone. My father in law is a machinist, so he fixed the Bushing issue. He also made a metal shaft that fit the size of the (...) (19 years ago, 27-Oct-05, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic)

Technic Fun Models - Hats and Musical Instruments!

A couple of Technic fun models from a couple of years ago: A crown, using some technic body parts from C3P0. Technic parts make it fit well on my head: (URL) A working tambourine, with overlapping Technic beams, for quite a strong structure, and (...)   Re: High Failure Rate of New Type 9V Geared Motor

(...) I burned out two of these motors in a high-torque situation (my Great Ball Contraption module prototype) which I posted about (URL) here> and (URL) here>. I don't like them for their friction, their louder sound, and that they "feel" cheaper (...) (19 years ago, 27-Oct-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Gottwald AMK 1000t mobile crane

(...) Hi Jacub, that's a really nice crane! I especially like the support vehicles you built for it, really makes it complete. Is the jib held on with rubber bands? Nice simple idea! Did you drill out the centre of the 1/2 bushes so they rotate (...) (19 years ago, 27-Oct-05, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic)

Re: gearbox pack 673F - any use for it?

Hello Gyl, This gearpack is the rear axle of the Dirt Crusher RC set 8369 Since the dirt crusher uses 7.2 volt Rc racingpack batteries so the motor will probably use 7.2 volt... Connection is only possible to the receiver part of the dirt crusher. (...) (19 years ago, 26-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Dump Truck (old)

This is not new, but I have never made a folder exclusively for the dump truck I began designing in December of 2001. It is 4-wheel drive, steers from the cab, has a V-8 engine and very old tyco pieces which I used to put the old-style pneumatic (...) (19 years ago, 26-Oct-05, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Minnesota AFOL makes it on Owatonna Today show

(...) Thanks for the positive feedback! It was fun. I had video prepared of some walkers, and demonstrated my little UCOGVI micromotor based walker. I'm rarely at a loss for words (verbosity is a family trait), so we got through most everything. I (...) (19 years ago, 26-Oct-05, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.technic)

Re: Minnesota AFOL makes it on Owatonna Today show

(...) I hope someone from a bigger TV station watches it and gets you more publicity. Your MOCs certainly deserve a wider audience. 12 minutes is good going for any TV show! Mark (19 years ago, 26-Oct-05, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.technic)

  Gottwald AMK 1000t mobile crane

Here is a mini fig scale Gottwald AMK 1000t mobile crane. There was only one of these ever built. This Lego crane uses 2 micro motors, one running the main hook, and the second running the hold back line for the jib. The counter weight is made up of (...) (...) -Snip- Ya, know......... What IF: like um, what if you added RC racer style motors and geartrain to the tred legs. Then watch it go nuts!
