  Re: Lego Technic suitcase

(...) Actually, I have about a dozen of the 3600 series and only a couple of the 3700 series. Most of my sorted stuff resides in a half dozen Popular Mechanics storage bins (either 18 or 23 compartment). They are similar to the Akro-Mils brand only (...) (...) Ummm, Duane You can actually venture out to Walmart or KMart, or your local tackle shop and buy these things..... Unless you live REALLY far from one of these places... and who does anymore...SIGH By the way, unless you only have a few of the (...) (26 years ago, 9-Mar-99, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Lego Technic suitcase

I have both the 3600 and 3700 series. Does anyone have a link where I could buy these boxes on-line? I'm really interested in the StowAway organizer that they sell to organize the organizers. (That senetence just SOUNDS ridiculous) (...) <SNIP> (...) (26 years ago, 9-Mar-99, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Lego Technic suitcase

Check out the StowAway line of boxes from Plano. After reading the discussion on this list (thanks to whoever first recommended them!!), I went out and bought a dozen from my local WalMart. If you can't locate the website, try e-mailing the company (...) (26 years ago, 9-Mar-99, to lugnet.storage)

  RE: Lego Technic suitcase

(...) Mario, You've got me on a pet subject, so I'll jump in. The Technic suitcase is a marvel of useless engineering. The dividers are flimsy, the trays don't stay in one place, and if you drop the case, you'll have to sort out the parts again - (...) (26 years ago, 9-Mar-99, to lugnet.storage)

  Lego Technic suitcase

I need to store a bunch of technic pieces. What's wrong with the Lego Technic suitcase? (I haven't any) - Price? - Shape? - Functionality? Thanks for your opinion. Mario (26 years ago, 9-Mar-99, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Hate the current boxes

As a general "life note to the wise": If they don't specifically TELL you that the item in question is acid-free/archival quality/whatever, IT ISN'T. And you would notice a price difference; i.e. the cheap card sheets as opposed to the UltraPRO (...) (26 years ago, 5-Mar-99, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Storage for RCX - and other Technic

You can count me as yet another AFOL that "discovered" that Plano "tackle" boxes were *really* intended for Lego storage! The only thing I have to add to the discussion is that K-mart also sells some "milk" storage crates that perfectly hold these (...) (26 years ago, 28-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.storage)

  Cheap plastic storage bins

My wife showed me a cheap way to get plastic storage bins for storing small parts. They're not as versatile as the Plano boxes, but a lot cheaper. In craft stores they sell boxes for storing embroidery floss for $1 or $2. They have 18 small (...) (26 years ago, 19-Feb-99, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Parts Storage -- A nice carrying/storage case

(...) ... (...) I just found this at Wal-mart locally too, and was about to post about it, but found this thread first. There were a few still in stock *BUT* they are all dusty. This tells me quite likely they are the last of the line and not likely (...) (26 years ago, 19-Feb-99, to lugnet.storage)

Storage for RCX - and other Technic

I have just updated my website and added a new page outlining PLANO Tackle boxes and how to modify them for that few Technic parts that just won't fit.   Tuperware!

I prefer using tuperware. You can lots and lots of different sizes of tuperware pretty cheap. Best of all they keep your legos clean and preserved! (26 years ago, 11-Feb-99, to lugnet.storage)

Re: How do you clean legos?

I use a old tooth brush and water. It's good for getting into all the nook and crannies without taking the whole thing apart. I thought about the shower. But the Black Seas Barracuda would have been wet for a long time. (...) (26 years ago, 3-Feb-99, to lugnet.storage)
