I picked this set up last night. I was hoping to find the TIE fighter, but
had to settle for this one. The set is not that great on it's own, but there
are some very nice parts:
8x8 grey satellite dish
4 white 2x2 inverse slope convex corner bricks
2 grey 4x4x(6 or 8 high?) curved thin walls (I personally don't care for these)
2 white printed 4x4x(6 or 8 high?) curved thin walls (these either)
C3P0 minifig
The main model is not very good. It is not sturdy - the 2x2 round plate on top
and the conical engine exhaust on the bottom pop off spontaneously on mine.
When trying to remove the lid, it is very easy to shatter the entire model.
Also, the it only has the most basic geometric resemblance to the escape pod
from the movie. The mix of grey and white wall pieces make it look funny.
I really like geting that satellite dish part. I'm sure the C3P0 will please
a lot of Star Wars collectors. Some C3P0s sold for 11.50 $US in the last
Auczilla. I only paid 7.99 $CDN for this set. Overall, it doesn't make a
very good Lego set on it's own, but it is necessary for the completeness of the
Star Wars line. And there are some great parts.
