According to the info in the instruction box, the "real" X-wing is 12 meters
long. On that basis, I'd say a Technics figure is a little bit too big and
clearly R2D2 is too small.

But then R2D2 seems too big when compared with a mini-fig, so he's the wrong
size in every set.

Because I don't like seeing the cockpit empty, I put in a Technics figure,
but it's a very snug fit width-wise, not much elbow room for the pilot. The
figure had a helmet but the cockpit looked too crowded with it, so he's
bareheaded now and that looks better.
