Yeah, Vader's TIE is a TIE Advanced X1 (experimeltal 1st model)
It was given to him by Admiral Zarran who developed both the Advanced and
Defender. (See the game TIE Fighter for further details)The Final version of
the TIE advanced is different in shape to Vader's X1.
Instructions for both the final TIE Advanced and Defender (and a load more
ships) can be found on my site -
www.the-nth-dimension.co.uk
The TIE Ad X1 is faster, more manouverable and has better armour than the
standard TIE. The final TIE Advanced also has Concussion Missiles and can be
equiped with a beam weapon. I don't know if Vaders X1 has this option.
Oh and the X1 was destroyed when the ISSD Executor crashed into the DS2 in
ROTJ it was sitting on it's launch cradle in the main hanger :)
Hope this helps,
Dorian
