Re: Same piece in different bags —Steve Bliss
Hmm. I didn't notice that when I was building my TIE/Y. Oh, right--I dumped all the parts out of the bags. Steve (...) (26 years ago, 18-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

Re: Same piece in different bags —Beth Reiten
I'm not sure if I've EVER actually looked at the bags... I'm a dump-and-swish fan, myself! Beth (...) (26 years ago, 18-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

Re: Same piece in different bags —Steve Bliss
(...) If the bags are well-organized, leaving pieces in the bags is just a way of pre-sorting everything. My least favorite approach to building is to make a big pile of pieces, and go for it. Occasionally, I'll dump everything, and then sort it (...) (26 years ago, 19-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

(...) I'll do it sometimes. Often I don't have time, so I want to move quickly. Also, if I know I'm not going to be able to finish in one session, I'll need to be able to put everything away neatly. Which is another advantage of leaving everything (...)          Re: Same piece in different bags —Tom Stangl
(...) Heck yes! In the case of 8880, 8480, and 5571, sorting them, even though it took hours, GREATLY shortened the build time. AND it let me see just how many of a neat piece were in each set. (26 years ago, 19-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

Re: Same piece in different bags —Scott Edward Sanburn
Yes, several parts of sets are mixed in in different bags, I noticed several of them. I don't really know how they are packed, but I am guessing that they have the bags and a large pile of one set and they dump them in however. I usually dump one (...)         Re: Same piece in different bags —Steve Bliss
(...) The packing of baggies is a very precise science. Other people can describe it better than I, but basically there are a bunch of hoppers, each holding a large quantity of one part, and the bags are filled mechanically from the hoppers. The (...)         Re: Same piece in different bags —Scott Edward Sanburn
I see, so is there a separate line for each bag then, and are all the lines for each bag connected, or are they separate? I really wish I could see how they do some of these things, it's fascinating! Scott Sanburn (...) (26 years ago, 21-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)
