  Same piece in different bags

I don't ever recall seeing the exact same piece (i.e. same piece and color) in two different bags in a set before. I am building the Tie/Y-wing set that I got from S@H today (the first set of all 5 that I've received so far), and while building I (...) Sure, it's happened in DOZENS of sets. I've only build a few sets in the last month or 2, but I have seen this in almost every one. Eric Brok wrote in message ... (...) Identical composition not necessarily required. In set# 6331(Patriot Jet), one of the main wings was placed in a bag with other pieces, but the other one is not even "bagged" at all. I've also seen that (two (...) (...) Ah, but the main wings off 6331 are not identical, are they? They come in left/right variety, right? The same if commonly noted with other parts that come in left/right variety, like doors. The 8880 has identical bags, BTW. Fredrik (25 years ago, 18-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

(...) Two bags were identical. I think it was the bags with some large shock absorbers in them. Fredrik (25 years ago, 19-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

Re: Same piece in different bags

(...) If the bags are well-organized, leaving pieces in the bags is just a way of pre-sorting everything. My least favorite approach to building is to make a big pile of pieces, and go for it.   Re: Same piece in different bags

(...) Heck yes! In the case of 8880, 8480, and 5571, sorting them, even though it took hours, GREATLY shortened the build time. AND it let me see just how many of a neat piece were in each set. (25 years ago, 19-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

Re: Same piece in different bags

Yes, several parts of sets are mixed in in different bags, I noticed several of them. I don't really know how they are packed, but I am guessing that they have the bags and a large pile of one set and they dump them in however. I usually dump one (...)   Re: Same piece in different bags

(...) The packing of baggies is a very precise science. Other people can describe it better than I, but basically there are a bunch of hoppers, each holding a large quantity of one part, and the bags are filled mechanically from the hoppers. The (...) I see, so is there a separate line for each bag then, and are all the lines for each bag connected, or are they separate? I really wish I could see how they do some of these things, it's fascinating! Scott Sanburn (...) (25 years ago, 21-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)
