In lugnet.reviews, Jason Brown writes:
Isn't "Astromech" a _type_ of Droid?  (as "pickup" is a type of truck,
R2 and other's like him where also refred to as "Astro-droids" in EP1, I
believe.

fwiw, the official SW website (http://www.starwars.com/droids/astromech/) says
of "Astromech Droids"
"...There are several models in production, but the basic design involves a
cylindrical body topped by a domed swiveling head. Astromechs move about on
two treaded roller legs, and a third, retractable leg is often included for
stability. "

It also has entries which detail "Battle Droid", "Protocol Droid"
and "Interrogator Droid"

We now return you to the originally scheduled discussions.
