I think those are prototype pictures. The giveaway is the Destroyer Droid. We have all seen what it is going to look like, however the recent picture at Outerrim of the Destroyer Droid is VERY VERY different from the confirmed looking set. The (...) (25 years ago, 24-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

One thing that struck me was that the models were all photographed in a manner similar to the late 70's/early 80's catalogs. I wouldn't be surprised if the scans are from some promotional material Lego produced to show buyers what they had in store (...) (25 years ago, 24-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

I agree, the shots on Outer Rim are PROTOTYPES. Sets are missing printed pieces that the rebelscum shots (from a final catalog/manuals) have, the technic are in different colors, missing specialized pieces and rubber bands. I think the Falcon (...) (25 years ago, 24-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Is it just me, or do the X-wing and Interceptor look more like Model Team than they do Technic? I think so... (25 years ago, 24-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) They are Model Team. I have a pic of a LEGO-built Model Team X-Wing on my web site - they look very similar. These are pics from a LEGO Club magazine: (URL) on the third picture. These pics are big but detailed. Carbon 60 (25 years ago, 24-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Another quick question regarding those technic x-wing and tie-fighter. It says they will be Limited Edition? What exactly does that mean? I WILL have those sets :), but how will I get them? -Zak zak@mimir.net (25 years ago, 24-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

I have a "limited edition" Explorien Scorpion Detector, and it is no different than the regualr one, except that the packaging and (...) (25 years ago, 24-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

While I think it's mostly a result of Outer Rim not knowing what they're talking about, a few possibilities are: Store exclusive (seems unlikely, especially for the size) Shop At Home exclusive Internet exclusive I wouldn't really be surprised if it (...) (...) The purple color of the MF cockpit seems dubious to me. I have to believe that Lego will design a more authentic canopy; after all, Vader's Tie Figher and the Y-Wing, X-Wing, and Snow Speeder all have relatively detailed canopy markings, and (...) (25 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) My thoughts exactly. I believe these pictures are similar to the X-Wing we saw last year. I feel the main designs will stay basically the same, but printing, colors and minor changes will take place. Here are my thoughts on each set: 7155 AAT (...)
