Mini Jedi Starfighter Promotion

According to the March-April 2005 Lego Magazine, you can get a free Mini
Jedi Starfighter at Albertsons with a Pepsi and Frito-Lay purchase (I
assume this is US only)[1] from May 1--31, 2005.
So on Tuesday I made the big detour on my way home to actually find an
Albertsons. No indication of such a promotion. I head to
www.albertsons.com and www.lego.com/starwars. Nothing. Does anyone know
if this promotion is actually going to happen?

[1] Kinda strange that this promotion would be with a non-national chain.
Maybe Albertsons is national if you add in other owned stores like Osco,
but only Albertsons is mentioned.

| (...) Yes, this promo is going on. Some Albertsons have them out in a display bowl, and at others you have to ask. The promo is that you get one free with purchase of 2 six packs of Pepsi + 2 bags of Frito Lay chips, which cost me around $12. If (...) (20 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.starwars)
