Price Gauging at KB Toy Works???

I was just at a KB Toy Works and they had obviously just recieved a shipment of
classic SW sets (No EP1 sorry).  Seeing I already have all the sets I decided
to get a couple for my nephew.  Almost as soon as I picked up the sets a clerk
came by and pulled all of the SW stock off the shelf so I asked why and she
said the price just went up.  I fortunately got the lower price (which was
still slightly above retail).

I guess this does not suprise me because everyone wants to make a buck but I
think this may get out of hand especially at the smaller toy stores.

One thing I noticed about the higher prices is they use an EZ-to-peal sticker
directly over the old price and they are hand keying prices into the register
by hand so take that for what you will.  Personally I am a very honest person
but you will still pay over retail anyway so who do you think is benefiting
even if you do someing a little unscrupulous?

(...) I have never seen a KB store that has decent prices. They were *always* higher priced. Even at a KB-related store called "Toy Liquidators" that presents itself as being a "below retail" operation, the prices are high. I can only assume it is a (...) (26 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.starwars)
