Here are picture of the Don Post Star Wars helmets. It looks like the TIE
helmet is kind of a mixture between a rebel pilots helmet and a Stormtrooper
helmet. IMHO The real TIE helmet is not too different from the real
Stormtrooper helmet -- the differences would be even less noticable on
minifig scale helmets. So I think its O.K. that TLC used the same mold with
different printing. Again, that's just IMHO.

| (...) probobly the closest helment that lego has made is that exploriens one thats a normal helmet but with hoses. Then again, I have never seen a tie pilots helmet up close. (24 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars)
