  SNOT SHIP - T93 Solaris

This SHIP started in 2002 as an experiment to build a click-hinge based cylinder, and eventually became a composite of various SNOT and non-standard building techniques. I don't have any cool sci-fi backstory about the origin or purpose of the (...) (18 years ago, 26-Aug-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX) !!

Re: SNOT SHIP - T93 Solaris

Very impressive. And it has a very professional look, right out of a sci-fi movie. Andreas (18 years ago, 26-Aug-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

(...) This rocks, I am blown away. Gray and blay is thoughtfully mixed, and that looks really good. The "nose" has an interesting ducklike shape, giving this SHIP an unique profile. And a microscale SHIP, did you calculate how long it is for a (...) (18 years ago, 26-Aug-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Stuff I like: (3 URLs) I'm not so keen on the saucer bit up front - I think a flatter, more angular head would have been better. Also, missiles. I'm a sucker for missiles. Apart from those minor nitpicks it's quite stunning. I'll be borrowing bits (...) (18 years ago, 26-Aug-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

It simply rocks! It's very unique, in a very good way. Awesome, awesome, awesome! (18 years ago, 27-Aug-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

(...) -snip pic- (...) Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! Wow, I don't even know where to begin. As others are saying, this looks almost like a spaceship model out of a sci-fi show or movie. That alone says it all. Specific bits, like the engines and (...) (18 years ago, 27-Aug-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

In lugnet.space, Jon Walker wrote: snip (...) Fantastic!! I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of the saucer in the front either, but it still looks alright - helps to give it a very distinctive profile. The mid-section is beautiful, and I love (...) (...) 1 or more of these: (URL) with a pile of clear 1x1 round plates in front to diffuse its almost-laser-like light, behind the trans-red elements. Add several of those light bricks, individually controlled, to give a throttling-up effect when (...) (18 years ago, 27-Aug-06, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: SNOT SHIP - T93 Solaris

(...) great, it looks used, it looks real. In my eyes it's definitely an interstellar explorer vessel, the front 'disc' being the habitation area (making humans *at most* two plates high), maybe even a detachable flying saucer? This thing really (...) (18 years ago, 27-Aug-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.schleim)

(...) Keith, Did you recently have an unpleasant visit to a podiatrist? I'm not sure I understand what your talking about (as usual), but thanks for the 'hurray'. BTW, I stole your 'font'. -Jon (18 years ago, 27-Aug-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Some of the ideas (such as the cylinder) originated in early 2002, but I've been attending school and working full time, which (...) (...) What do I think? I think it should of been at BrickFest is what I think. Holy crap this is pretty. Looks like a rebel blocade runner design at its core. Sweetness Jon, I think you raised the bar a tad. (18 years ago, 30-Aug-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

(...) I missed BrickFest, but I'm seriously thinking of hauling this thing (and other MOCs) up to NWBrickCon. I live in PDX, so the drive to Seattle isn't that far. (18 years ago, 5-Sep-06, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)
