I like these -- they’re whimsical. Mr.Rignault has made good use of the Lever Base, 1x1 Plate With Tooth, etc. to depict bulbous eyes, noses, beaks, protruding tongues, moustaches, feelers and eyebrows. The naturalistic browns and sand-colors are an important aspect of the look.

The heads-on-minifig-bodies look too much IMHO like giant-masks-on-people, which is better than the “bumpy forehead” syndrome of “Star Trek” aliens; but I prefer the completely non-humanoid examples later in the gallery. If the minifig torso-look were broken up with stilt-like legs, or snake-like or slug-like bodies, they’d look more alien.

Thank you Mr. Thorne! I kept a lot of minifig bodies because it’s not so easy to come with a complete body made of bricks, that will be small enough to fit a minifig size. I’ll try though.

Cheers,

JP.
