Most probably - assuming the rings are both balanced all you need to overcome is friction. And they won’t be spinning all that fast.

Cool! But don’t knock yourself out trying to get it to run off a single motor - unless you only have one!! You’d probably find on the real craft, they would be driven independently, with computer synchronisation.

   And speed is actually something I don’t want - the HabRing has to be very slow since I’m going to have detail I want people to see inside of it.

I’ve been talking with Soren Roberts on IM and have been getting some good feadback and ideas - I’m feeling a lot more confident about doing this, as this will be my first technic/motorized project. i have a deep fear of getting it built, turning it on and watching it fall into pieces.

LOL don’t worry it happens *a lot* even to people that play with motors all the time!
