As cool as the 8x8 radar dish hatches look, placing them so they swing outwards
is a major engineering mistake, since youd have higher pressure pushing it open
instead of closed. Of course, thats just a hatch, not a full airlock. I think
the most interesting full airlock that Ive seen was done as a rotating cylinder
formed from 3 of the 4x4 quarter cylinders, but I cant remember where I saw it.
I came up with my own design (which is only a single hatch, but could very
easily be upgraded to a full airlock) for
Neptunes Moon Lagoon. Its
just a simple sliding wall, but it has a stud-free 1x1x1 extending out of one
side that fits into a matching socket in the far wall to prevent the door from
falling out. Thinking back on it, I probably could have just put a raised 1x1
tile on the sealing end, but Im not going to tear into it at this point.
