    My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Jeff Elliott
Hi folks, They're entered in Mark's contest, but in case you missed 'em, I've got a heavy tug and a lifeboat posted on brickshelf. The descriptive text is included in the gallery, so have a read. The URLs are: Tug: (URL) Elliott (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Mladen Pejic
Pssssttt... Jeff, I'm gonna let you in on a little secret... you're gonna win. Really outstanding work Jeff, your models are so realistic, and detailed! Man I can't compete with your stuff, you're just *too* good! BTW I'm serious about you winning, (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Mark Sandlin
Actually, I don't even know who is going to win, because I'm having a couple other people help me judge, and then I'm going to average the results... that way it comes out more randomly, and more "fair." ~M (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Mladen Pejic
You mean like your friends and stuff? I only thought you and your wife were judging... oh well, it'll be more fair this way! And I personally still think Jeff is gonna win, but Bob Hayes has some excellent models as well... hmmm... it's not gonna be (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Mark Sandlin
Actually it's just 3 people. Myself, My wife, and an as-yet undisclosed party (Need to ask if she wants me spreadin' the news ;^) ) At any rate, The judging scale has been posted, and once totals have been reached, I'll average the 3 together to see (...)          Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Jeff Elliott
(...) *blush* Well, thanks for your vote of confidence; personally, I like Bob Hayes' Hyperspace Dart a *lot*. I'm glad he didn't enter it until Friday, 'cuz I might not have managed to finish the Tug otherwise... too demoralized :) Cheers, Bob! (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Mark Sandlin
(...) Now, Jeff, you know that wouldn't have been fair to the other entrants. ;^) ~Mark (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Bob Hayes
(...) I think it is great that Mark put the contest together. It was the motivation I needed to finish my ships. I really enjoy looking at everybody's creations, they are all inspiring. I like that space tug - the internal details are fantastic. Win (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Mark Sandlin
Aw, shucks. It's been fun for me too, because I got to see a lot of MOCs that I may not have otherwise. *snif* aw, jeez... now I'm gettin all broke up Group hug, everyone. ~M (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Rick Kujawa
I don't want to influence any voting by commenting on which creations I like or don't like. All I'll say is that it is hard for me to imagine your "everyday Joe" having or being in some of them. (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —George Haberberger
(...) Wow, I really like the tug, and I'm impressed with your ability to work with current physical laws. I just need to get some of those big technic gears, now. George (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Jeff Elliott
(...) Thanks! Regarding the turntables, they're part number W779876 at (URL) I imagine is Lego Dacta part 9876, if there's any logic to the world. :) I also have an image of the stripped-down arrangement on brickshelf: (URL) green-coloured areas (...)         Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Jon Palmer
Oh man, Jeff that Tug is really cool. When I first saw it I thought it had a nice shape-- modular but not without an inovative design like many modular creations tend to be. I love the vertical orientation. Then I saw all the pictures and read the (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: My Design-A-Civvie MOCs —Jeff Elliott
(...) <snip> (...) That exact image is what inspired me to make the ship in the first place. Originally, I was thinking of making an LDraw model, but two things stopped me: 1) I'm really not all that hot with LDraw; I'm better at the real brick, and (...)
