The thought crossed my mind, a single technic fig with a really elaborate
console would be cool. But I planned this to fit in the same world as the turbo
cycles which seat minifigs. (Plus I don't have any technic figs or have the
desire to own any. :P )

They're actually chrome cylinders from the Naboo Fighter with the smaller VR
(34.5x14VR I think) tires stretched over them.
