By my calcualtions that's almost 7 days worth of rendering. I admire your
perseverance :) It was worth it though - nice renders.
I've been playing around with the area lighting settings as well since
someone posted them here a few weeks ago. I'm not really sure what I'm
doing, so that may be a factor, but I find it quite difficult to set the
ambient light and gamma settings to get a satisfactory result direct from
POV. I generally use Paintshop Pro after the render is finished to increase
the contrast and luminesense to get something reasonable.
I've also found that using at least one point source of light as well as the
area light can be quite effective. see
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/almac/misc/paramed-hi.jpg for an example.
Cheers,
Allister

| After getting some help from Travis Dickinson, I messed around with POV-Ray a little to do some renderings of my Quad Pod. They're still not perfect, but they're better than the original LDView screen shots I posted. (URL) (22 years ago, 13-Nov-02, to lugnet.space)
