Okay then, I officially vollunteer to be one of the three.  I have lots of
time, some webspace (though if I got a brickshelf account, I could have lots
more), and I'll take bribes in US dollars or gold pressed latinum (sorry,
just got back from alt.binaries.startrek   ;)

On the other hand, if someone really wants to snub me, I don't suppose I
would mind competing either...    ;)   Whatever we do, I think it should
happen soon since winter break is coming and that would be the ideal
building as well as judging time.

After watching the Et in Arcadia Hoverthing contest, I think a small, simple
page hosting links and a single thumbnail to people's own displays on their
own pages would be a great way to do it.  That way, whoever hosts the actual
contest page does not need to worry about having a large amount of webspace
or a large amount of links to worry about, as well as a simplified page
layout.  In fact, if no one else wants to, I can host the page.  I'd rather
do that than deal with logistics, since I've never actually done anything
like this before.

What are the organizer's responsibilities?  Off hand, I can think of:
1: Invent the rules, including categories and voting procedures.
2: Make official announcements.
3: Create a contest page and update it as entries come in.
4: Organize voting.

Assuming that the theme is Blacktron I, is there anyone here who is • willing
to do the above but not enter the contest?

Since it is not Ice Planet ;-), I would be willing to help with • scrutinizing
the votes again. With that double checking, the organizer should be able • to
compete if he/she wishes.

Maybe a group of 3 or so could come up with a set of rules.  I'd be • willing
to help out here.  I'd also be happy to do the contest page.  If so, I'd
host it here on Lugnet and use Brickshelf for images.

And in 5 or so years when we get around to Ice Planet, I'll be happy to • run
the voting.  Trans-neon-peach glass?  UGH!  What were they thinking?! • I'll
take clear beer or dark blue glass, thank you very much.  (Sorry, I • couldn't
resist a little dig there!)

Bribes will begin at $100-, and I take American money at par. <grin>

Not so convenient here... although Lego bills only come in $100 • increments,
they weren't around in the Blacktron era.
