Thanks to all of the mail I have received, I am going to try
to get the next version of pbFORTH out this weekend.
Charles Anderson pointed out a rather embarassing flaw
in the LCD_SHOW and LCD_HIDE routines, thanks.
I have been using Dave Baum's NQC package that I reference
on the web site. all I have to do is
SET RXC_PORT=com3
nqc -firmware pbforth.srec
and the download goes much faster than the cygwin compiled
firmdl.c I was using. There's even a nice dot printed for every
20 or so packets sent. Great job Dave!
What I am trying to get done for next time is a good
power on/off cycle. I have tried using the skeleton of
Kekoa's first.c from his excellent librcx collection,
but even this does not work - probably my fault.
I suspect the problem is the IR carrier ISR or something
more subtle. I'm also working on making the RX and TX
more interrupt driven so that we can maybe suppress echoes
for received characters.
Thanks for the support, and let's try to get this working
well enough to use - I HATE having to reload the firmware
every time.
Cheers,
