Dave Baum is right (and he wrote the language, so he should know :-). The
language IS the same across environments. Your problem is a version one:
you apparently have the older 1.x version of the compiler on the PC:
upgrade it to 2.x and all will be well. Look at

for a description of what changed in in the language betweem 1.x and 2.x.
There were a lot of changes (including your until <=> wait example).

That book uses version 2.0b1 of the language, and again, there were lots
of changes from 1.x versions, as detailed on the web page above. You were
trying to compile it on a 1.x compiler, I bet.
Upgrade your compilers to the latest version on both platforms, throw
away the modified code, re-download the programs for the book, and
they'll work without modification on either platform, interchangeably.
