The brickOS team is pleased to announce our next test release.
(Can you believe we are days shy of a year since our last?)
We will likely do one more before our formal brickos-1.0.0 release.
Our plan is to release 0.2.6.11 followed by a testing period to
be closely followed with the formal brickos-1.0.0 release. We
are working on more bugfixes and Linux USB tower support for
the .11 release.

Details regarding how to provide feedback are at
http://brickos.sourceforge.net/testing

You can download from
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=58151

For change detail specific to 0.2.6.10.5 see the file 'ChangeLog'
after download.  In general, this test release contains latest fixes
found in CVS, many patches and fixes to reported bugs.  Also, the
fixes so that brickos can compile under gcc-3.x should now be
complete. (Please let us know if we missed a gcc related fix.)
We are working on on the Linux USB Tower support so that our
brickOS 1.0.0 release will support both Serial and USB towers
on all supported platforms.

The generated API documentation at our website
[http://brickos.sourceforge.net/documents.htm] has been updated to
reflect this version of code, exactly.  If you see corrections
needed in the API docs or you would like clarification, please
let us know by posting to this group.

*** A quick reminder ***
After you unpack the source .tar.gz file, you _must_ first run ./configure
This will condition the make files so they work for you.  If you
run make first, it will generate an error indicating that you
need to run configure.

We look forward to hearing from you regarding how this test release
works and/or what needs fixing.  Our goal is to make this next test
release as strong as possible so that we know the quality of our
formal 1.0.0 release will be high.  With your help in
providing feedback for each test release, we will reach this goal.

As always we welcome comments on our current website layout and
suggestions for content.

Thanks, in advance, for your testing and feedback.

Regards,
Stephen - Member of the brickOS team
