Carlos,

Last time I checked you were unable to compile the kernel using winLegOS or
DJGPP.  For those not familiar with the inner workings on winLegos it is
essentially a pre-built Hitachi cross-compiler with several gnu utilities
running under MS-DOS.  This was made possible by use of DJGPP, a port of
several GNU Tools to MS-DOS. Actually there really isn't (or should not be)
anything called winLegOS since it is all GNU Tools, DJGPP ports of GNU
Tools, or legOS pre-compiled utilities.  I guess the last gives some
justification to the labeling.

I have done some work at upgrading the information on DJGPP or at least the
steps to build the cross compiler.  This can be found at
http://brickos.sourceforge.net/docs/install-DJGPP.html.  I also have a
couple of patches for brickOS 0.2.6.09 and 0.2.6.10.  This allows for better
configuration and an issue with getopt.h files. I have been busy lately
(MATLAB Programming Contest!!! See
http://www.mathworks.com/contest/trucking.cgi/home.html) and have not been
able to coordinate an upload of the revised DJGPP/GNU tools for brickOS. And
since DJGPP is not Win32 there is an issue with USB towers (i.e. it is not
supported!).

Besides I really don't think anyone is using winLegos anymore or really
wants to.

Ed

Hi there. I've an old notebook (libretto 70ct) and of course not too much
space on disk. So I wonder if I can compile the kernel with winLegOS, due • to
the fact that cygwin consumes a lot of space. If that's not possible, • should
I have to add some specific component to winLegOS in order to be able to
change the kernel and recompile?
