Good Idea !

I had no problem using legOS when using a RedHat 7.1, Mandrake8 or a
Conectiva 6.0,
As far as I remember, there is a Debian package available for legOS.

So... no matter which distribution you'll use, it will be far better
than Cygwin stuff over Windows.
