Hi,

I was searching a web page which gives an overview about all the sharp
distance sensors. I 've found it. I 'm sure that some of yours will read it.

Could your MUX be used for that, Michael ??
http://www.plazaearth.com/usr/gasperi/mux.htm

That MUX would be really good for this type of thing.  You would need to
work out the power supply part.  Probably taking all the power from the
Motor Output or a 9V battery box so you wouldn't need D3 and D4.

The GP2D02 is a very powerful sensor for a robot.  Getting it to work
will really be great.  I think the best bet is to use a 9V battery box for
this
instead of using a precious output port...

Hi Ram,

please have a look into the data sheets. Then you would say "... the GP2D02
is a very powerful sensor .... but the GP2D12 is better than the GP2D02 for
using it with the RCX. The GP2D02 needs a serial transmission protocol and
the GP2D12 has an analog output which you can read with the RCX sensor port.

Should we use a new subject for this problem or does anybody know about the
differences between the Sharp sensors and their different numbers?

GP2D02  analog output with serial protocol
gets distances between 10 and 80 cm

GP2D05  boolean output
gets only one adjusted distance (between 10 and 80 cm)

GP2D12  analog output
gets distances between 10 and 80 cm

GP2D15  boolean signal
gets only one adjusted distance (between 10 and 80 cm)
