Some news that might be of interest...
As part of their announcement that Visual Studio Express will be permanently
free MS has released a .NET interface for the RCX.
You can find details about it on their Coding4Fun site:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/coding4fun/lego/default.aspx
It's designed for integrated solutions (solutions that use a PC to control the
RCX in real-time) as opposed to the typical compile/download/run on the RCX
solutions.
There's some interesting content in the articles. It seems the source code for
the interface is also available in C++ so anyone can extend it. At the end of
the Tips and Tricks article there are links to various Mindstorms resources
(including LUGNET) and a nice little plug for the NXT. It also implies there
will be continuing updates/news regarding developing .NET apps for the
Mindstorms system, so I can only assume something will be available for the NXT.
The Sample LEGO Applications video shows a few examples of what can be done and
how to do it.
Thanks to Paul Langille for pointing this out to me.

At least that means the work I've done for the Control Lab won't (...) (19 years ago, 20-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)
