"Stuck" was the magic word. It was (of course) somehow only stuck thinking it
was a touch sensor port.
I used the Mindstorms RCX code to re-program all sensor ports as light sensors
downloaded and then - nothing - still the same error (no reading and no light
from the sensor). But then I ran through all programs from 1 to 5 and presto!
when coming back and running no. 5 second time around the light sensor on port
3 "woke up". Maybe it was a "Gasperi Magic Touch".
Wow! Now I can still put the Droid Developer kit and the Robotics Discovery set
on my kids X-mas list ;-)
Thanks a lot
