Does anyone have a used HB? I would like a built one with a serial board
too, it would have to work also. I could buy a complete kit with the
serial board too. Any info would be great.
I started using the board at school and would like to use one at home.

Can't offer much wisdom at this time since we are at the same place as you.  Decided
on Handyboard, saw three different suppliers in the HB stuff at MIT, and will decide
this week which to buy.  We're using Polaroid sonar, IR, and bumper switches to "see"
our world.  If you don't already have it, get the complete HB manual from the MIT HB
page.  It gives a lot of great info.
