| Should I modify the hb circuit to disable the recharge circuitry if I am using nimh batteries or will the circuitry just not recharge the batteries ?, i.e. no damage to the cells by using them on an 'as-is' board. | Would installing a diode (power diode, >3A ?) into the +ve line of the battery pack be suitable to prevent the power circuitry of the HB from trying to recharge the nimh cells ?. Or do I actually need to do anything at all ?, i.e. the nimh cells (...) (24 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

| the issue with nimh is that plain trickle charge is not appropriate. you must remove charge current when the cells are full charge. the HB charge circuit just doesn't do that. i'd really recommend switching back to nicad. fred In your message you (...)
