Can any body tell me if a 6.6nF capacitor will do to replace the 6.8nF
in the IR Transmission circuit (Fred?) ?.

| (...) Yes. Capacitors have typically very loose tolerances anyhow; usually 20% unless you buy specifically selected samples in a tighter tolerance.
