Hi Raj,
Your range of interest is small, but see if you can get anything out of
the Sharp IR sensors from Acroname (http://www.acroname.com).

Good luck!

Hi All:
Does anyone know of any good mini distance measuring sensors
which can be used with a microprocessor? The required range
is 0-30 mm and small size. Names of distributors would be
greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
Raj
